F1 Hoes at 4H of Monza

The European Le Mans Series had their annual 4 hours of Monza race during the first weekend of July. We hopped on a plane and flew to Milan on the 1st of July. Our adventure was one to never forget.

4 teenage girls on a trip to Italy? Sounds fun no? But 4 teenage girls going to Monza is even better. Watching Le Mans prototypes and GT cars race for 4 hours straight at the temple of speed sounds like an ideal weekend - with no irony being in that sentence. Our money was well spent.

From meeting drivers to walking around the paddock, we had fun during all. Getting to go to the starting grid of the race was very motivating as well. For me at least. This weekend definitely boosted my motivation and reminded me that this is what I want to do in the future, be a journalist in motorsport.

Funnily enough - this was also the first time the three of us met all together. We also brought a new fan with us, Jasmina, who wanted to learn more about endurance racing. Girls supporting girls in motorsport is very important to us, and we were so glad that we could take her with us. Motorsport is more than just Formula 1, and it's one of the goals of our wesbsite to spread that.

"Throughout the whole weekend the sun was high up and we were sweating like cows in a slaughterhouse. I can't even imagine how the mechanics and drivers must have been, but even then everyone was so nice to us and greeted us with a big smile on their faces. We were able to explore the circuit like I never thought we'd be able to and the whole weekend was an experience that I'll cherish for the rest of my life." - Anna, our graphic designer.
"It has always been my dream to see a race live, and that is why I was over the moon when I got the opportunity to see ELMS in Monza, my absolute favourite track. I loved that I could not only watch the race itself, but also all behind the scenes you don't get to see very often. I found it fascinating to observe the teams and marshalls in action, and see motorsport from a different angle." - Adéla, our MotoGP expert.

From these pictures you can clearly figure out which team we supported during the weekend.

This aim of this post is to show that it is easy to visit races. Visiting Formula 1 races is hard, but other races are very welcoming. With a general weekend ticket we got to go to the paddock, attend the pitlane autograph session, the starting grid of the race was opened for us and all grandstands were avalaiable, with the choice being ours as no specific seats were assigned. This is not just for ELMS, but other racing series as well.

It is important to consider motorsport as more than just Formula 1, because there are more and in certain cases better opportunities for visiting races and accessing motorsport from all different angles.
